EUTROPHICATION BEYOND 2020: REWRITING THE OLD FAIRY TALE – NEW PATHWAYS TO A HAPPY ENDING

Date, Time

Monday, 4 June, 13.10.-18.10 @ Tallink SPA & Conference Centre (Sadama 11a)

Description and key notes:

Kristina Veidemane, BEF Latvia, will present the value chain of agriculture to pin-point the key drivers for eutrophication,

Hannah Sophia Weber, BEF Germany, will present the ResponSEAble key findings on the story of eutrophication currently told around the Baltic Sea and pose our hypothesis how to tell the story differently.

We will get an input from HELCOM on the new policy development with regard to agriculture, and some inputs on the attempt to award the farmer of the year, several NGO campaigns.

The main goal is an inter-active workshop to discuss new messages that in our opinion need to be broadcasted in all channels to make people, stakeholders more aware about impact of globalisation and large scale farming on eutrophication and to empower actors along the value chain to change agricultural policy.

The organiser is Baltic Environmental Forum Germany with support from Horizon2020 program project ResponSEAble. The partners are Baltic Enviromental Forum Latvia and Estonia.
