Participation Day, which is organized for the first time on 13^th June 2017, takes place back-to-back with the EUSBSR Annual Forum in Berlin.

The aim of the event is to attract local and regional levels to take part in EUSBSR cooperation and present concrete project proposals and concepts. The event particularly hopes to attract, in addition to local and regional levels, representatives from civil society, academia, media and business.

The event is divided in three thematic groups: Sustainable tourism development; Education, research and employability and integration of refugees; and Involvement and cooperation. The participants have an opportunity to present their own project proposals in these thematic workshops.

The EUSBSR Participation Day is inspired by the Danube Participation Day, which has proven to be a successful event to attract new stakeholders to macro regional cooperation. The EUSBSR Participation Day is organized by the Horizontal Action Capacity’s coordinators in cooperation with the the states of Brandenburg ja Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
