We’re celebrating the most effective laws and policies for non-hazardous buildings – join us and nominate today!

The NonHazCity 3 project, co-financed by Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, kicked off in January 2023. Building on results from prior successful project, this project tackles hazardous substances in buildings and the building sector and thus contribute to PA Hazards' ambition to reduce the use of hazardous substances in the Baltic Sea Region.

The project has also launched a call for nominations for the NonHazCity Award of policies and strategies (local, regional, national) that foster toxfree, circular and climate-neutral building in the Baltic Sea Region.

The NonHazCity Building Award is the first policy prize recognising best policies in construction in the Baltic Sea Region at national, regional or local level.

Around 40,000-60,000 chemicals are in commerce worldwide. Many hazardous chemicals are found in the construction sector. This new Award aims is to highlight policies protecting people and the environment from hazardous chemicals in buildings, integrating circularity, toxic-free & climate neutrality. The aim of the award is to inspire citizens, decision- makers and business and to showcase innovative solutions.

The award is coordinated by the World Future Council

Nominations deadline is the 30h June 2024
