Changing demographic patterns has a strong impact on socio-economic development in the Baltic Sea Region and accelerates regional disparities. Region connectivity plays a key role in the success of sustainable development. The aim of the seminar is to discuss, how the region can develop integrated, effective and inclusive lifelong learning education together, that is closely linked to, and supports the smart specialization areas.

Elaboration:
The seminar focuses on connectivity of skills and competences for smart specialization in the Region. Aim of the seminar is to discuss, how Baltic Sea Region countries and regions can together develop integrated, effective and inclusive lifelong learning education, that is closely linked to, and supports the smart specialization areas.
The seminars represent a cross-cutting approach: corresponding Priority Area (PA) Education, as well as PA Innovation by promoting the process of smart specialization.  

The seminar will focus on the following central themes:
•    Lifelong Learning in the Global Knowledge Economy: skills and competences of the future economies;
•    Smart specialization and availability of workforce – territorial context;
•    Lifelong Learning as a driving force for regional development and specialization;
•    Lifelong learning in the digital age.

The content of the seminar will be designed to engage the audience - sectors and actors from local, regional, national and EU levels and to stimulate dynamic discussions on addressed issues and spread good examples around the Region.
